Good
news from the city of Syracuse New York!
I am working with a program call Project Connection which is located on the eastside of City of Syracuse, NY. Our address is 921 E. Fayette
St. in Kennedy Square Apartments Complex.
The area in which we are located is considered a "Drug Infected Area", but we at PC feel it is a
"People Positive Area". I personally Refuse to believe that an area cannot be changed! We have already start changing the area with the help of God Almighty. The kids have started to come back to the center and are participating in the activities. We had an open house on 06/19/01 and participants were community people from all over the city,
politicians (Democrats and Republicans), the Mayor of our City, judges, lawyers,
doctors, pastors, Business men and women, and etc.
I believe that All Things are Possible, but the possibilities must be put into action. In other words, if you sat back and do nothing, something will happen, but it may not be what you are expecting to
happen (nothing stands still; it is either moving in one direction or another, negative or positive, backward or forward, up or down).
Our kids in the City of Syracuse (or any other city) are not the just future to come, they are the
"Future Now" and we MUST invest in them or they will detest us. (Isn't that what life is all about?) We Must
pass it on to them, because they will become US one day. If we do not
pass it on the them positively, it will suddenly come back to us the other way.
We at Project Connection Have a "Heart For The City Kids", because we are in the
"Heart Of The City Of Syracuse".
Sincerely,
Julius L. Lawrence Jr.
